Ashura

10 Muharram

Ashura is a solemn day of mourning the Brutaly  martyrdom of  Imam Hussain in 680 AD at Karbala in modern-day Iraq. The Imam Hussain (AS) was the Grandson of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH). The Ashura marked with mourning rituals and passion plays re-enacting the martyrdom.  Imam Hussain gave his life and his family members and friends lives for the Humanity and Justice. He never bowed down to unelected and cruel King Yazid, to whom gave no importance to the Humanity, nor the Islamic values at all. He was a Brutal murderer and history known him as a cruel killer and shame for Islamic values and he was disliked by all Muslims and non Muslim due to his BAD and Cruel Characters.
Ashura is marked by Muslims with a voluntary day of fasting till late Afternoon which commemorates the day Noah left the Ark, and the day that Moses was saved from the Egyptians by God. Ashura is marked with mourning rituals and passion plays re-enacting the martyrdom. Men and women dressed in black also parade through the streets slapping their chests and chanting showing their grief and sorrow on this very sad day of brutal killing of Imam Hussain AS and his companions.
